Ms. Tresa provides formal, individualized testing using the Woodcock-Johnson Tests of Achievement, which includes 22 tests for measuring skills in reading, mathematics, and writing, as well as important oral language abilities and academic knowledge. Emma Schaser is the newest member of our team but not
new to the area. Emma grew up in Myrtle Beach but traveled to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to earn her B.A. degree in Elementary Education from Wisconsin Lutheran College and advanced her studies in Scotland and England. Emma had the opportunity to complete field work in various school districts that prepared her with the understanding that no two children learn the same and provided her with a multitude of strategies to meet all students’ needs. She sees great value in forming relationships with students first in an effort to build a trust that allows for successful learning and growth as challenges are overcome. Emma has a special touch in working with children and is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of students...this time, one-on-one!
Academic therapy fills the gap between understanding your child’s learning and thinking differences. We assess, design a program, and teach skills and strategies that help students manage their issues and improve their schoolwork by providing a highly structured program in reading and/or math. Parents are apprised of weekly progress and follow up activities for home that reinforce skills taught in our sessions.
